SN35.68 — Samiddhi's Question on the World
World, world, it is said, venerable sir. In what way, venerable sir, is there a world or the designation of a world?
Where, Samiddhi, there is the eye, there are forms, there is eye-consciousness, there are phenomena cognizable by eye-consciousness, there, there is a world or the designation of a world... where there is the tongue... where there is the mind, there are mental phenomena, there is mind-consciousness, there are phenomena cognizable by mind-consciousness, there, there is a world or the designation of a world.
But where, Samiddhi, there is no eye, there are no forms, there is no eye-consciousness, there are no phenomena cognizable by eye-consciousness, there, there is no world or the designation of a world... where there is no tongue... where there is no mind, there are no mental phenomena, there is no mind-consciousness, there are no phenomena cognizable by mind-consciousness, there, there is no world or the designation of a world.
