SN46.38 — Anīvaraṇa Sutta

At the time when a noble disciple listens to the Dhamma with attentive ears, having made it a matter of vital concern, having applied his mind to it, and having gathered it with his whole heart, the five hindrances are not present in him at that time. The seven factors of enlightenment reach fulfillment through development at that time.

What five hindrances are not present at that time? The hindrance of sensual desire is not present at that time, the hindrance of ill will is not present at that time, the hindrance of sloth and torpor is not present at that time, the hindrance of restlessness and worry is not present at that time, the hindrance of doubt is not present at that time. These five hindrances are not present at that time.

What seven factors of enlightenment reach fulfillment through development at that time? The enlightenment factor of mindfulness reaches fulfillment through development at that time... the enlightenment factor of equanimity reaches fulfillment through development at that time. These seven factors of enlightenment reach fulfillment through development at that time.
